Are you moving soon? But what to do with your telephone system? A move is an ideal time to reflect on your telephony needs and desires.
Here are some tips on what you can do with your PBX when you move. Much depends on the age of your PBX and the cost to move it.
Moving the telephone exchange
If your PBX is not older than 60 months, you may want to consider moving your PBX with you.
Keep in mind that there are different costs associated with this move. It is best to get a quote for this from your current phone provider.
Switching to a new telephone exchange (in the cloud) can often be more advantageous than keeping your current one. So our advice is also to ask for a quote for a new PBX as well as a quote to move your current one.
When moving your current switchboard, there will be costs for the move itself as well as for setting up the switchboard again. Also make sure you do not enter into a service contract for x number of years by moving.
Are you leasing your telephone system? Then, of course, you need to check how long the lease runs. If you are in the last 12 months of your contract, buying a new PBX may be more economical.
Purchasing a new telephone system
If your PBX is older than 60 months, it is advisable to look at a new PBX anyway. Investing in moving the PBX only to have to buy/lease a new one 2-3 years later is not very smart.
So this is the ideal time to take a moment to consider your telephony needs and desires.
If PBX is currently still going through ISDN, now is a good time to switch to VoIP telephony. In addition to the savings, you also get plenty of new smart features.
